We usually use indirect questions when we want to sound more polite or we presume that our interlocutor might not know the answer to the question. Indirect questions are formed of two parts: polite phrase and the actual question. The question part of the sentence should be structured in affirmative word order.

- I was wondering …
- Do you have any idea …
- Could you please tell me …
- Tell me …
- I’d be grateful if you could tell me …
- I’d like to know …
- I’d appreciate it if you could tell me …
- Can you tell me ...
- Could I ask you ...
